Online Florist
There are many places you can order flowers, and you don’t have to go to your local flower shop to do so. You can find many online florists from which to choose, and the selection may be better than you can find locally. Because some flowers grow better in some parts of the country, ordering a rare type of flower from a shop near where it was grown may save you some money. There are many advantages to using an online florist, and the problem may be deciding which one to use.
I have only used an online florist once, and I regret to say that it was a bad experience. I haven’t ordered again, though I am not saying I won’t, I just will be sure to go with someone else when I order. I won’t let one bad experience with an online florist deter me from using them in the future, but I will not go with this particular site again. There are mix-ups and then there are just plain lazy people.
The particular online florist I chose accepted Paypal, so I placed my order and waited to hear from my friend that she had gotten her flowers. Days went by and I began to worry. I heard she had told her husband that she wanted to end her marriage on the day the flowers were due to arrive, and I was afraid he had intercepted them and thrown them out. I tried to call the online florist to see if my order had been delivered but I could not reach them right away. I was getting rather upset, as these were expensive flowers.
I finally reached them via email, and they said they would “look into it” and call me back. Three days went by with no news, and my friend never mentioned getting flowers. I called them back and finally got someone on the phone. She looked things up, and as it turned out, the flowers were never delivered. She said my order got “stuck” in their system. They could have figured this out the first time I called had they bothered to look, and the flowers could have been delivered. I demanded my money back, and I will never order from them again.
When you use an online florist and send flowers to someone far away, make sure you check in to be sure they were delivered. Most companies are wonderful, but not every online florist will offer the same service as the next. If you use Paypal or a credit card, you will have some recourse if something happens to you like the problem I had. Don’t be afraid of using an online florist, but do be sure your flowers have been delivered.
